Target ALS Has Been Named an Official Charity Partner for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon
We are proud to announce that Target ALS has been named an Official Charity Partner for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Target ALS Founder, Dan Doctoroff, was instrumental in bringing the half and full marathon races to New York City during his tenure as Deputy Mayor of Economic Development and Rebuilding under Mayor Bloomberg. Now, as Dan himself is living with ALS, we’re proud to be a charity partner of the marathon program, raising awareness and funds for ALS research to realize a world where Everyone Lives.
Target ALS accelerates research to discover effective treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disease. ALS is characterized by progressive and irreversible loss of muscle strength, eventually leading to paralysis and death, typically within 3-5 years of diagnosis.
As an official charity partner, Target ALS will provide guaranteed entry to the marathon to a limited number of runners.
If you are not yet registered for the marathon and would like to run in support of Target ALS, please complete the application found here. Runners who join our team commit to raising a minimum of $5,000 to realize a world where everyone with ALS lives. Target ALS has a limited number of slots and will make final selections by Monday, August 25, 2025.
If you have already received entry to the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon — not through another charitable organization — and you would like to join the Target ALS team, please email Christine Aranyos Prouty at christine.ap@targetals.org.
